In exploring “Transforming Education in the Digital Age,” this study focuses on the adoption and impact of various teaching–learning technologies in developing nations, with a particular lens on rural India. It involves a thorough examination of diverse digital educational tools such as educational software, learning management systems, artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality, mobile learning, and online learning platforms. The study also assesses the effectiveness of Indian government initiatives such as SWAYAM, DIKSHA, and NPTEL in enhancing education in rural areas. Grounded in the discourse of bridging the digital divide and promoting educational inclusivity, the study probes into the efficacy of these technologies in dismantling barriers to education in rural settings. The findings highlight the transformative role of mobile learning, AI, and online platforms, offering scalable, accessible, and personalized learning experiences. The research brings to light the critical role of government intervention in bolstering these technologies, emphasizing the need for robust infrastructure, fostering digital literacy, and curating content that resonates with the needs of rural learners.
