Experimental Study on Jet Pump Lifting Procedures in Marine Natural Gas Hydrate

In response to the problems of liquid accumulation and sand production during offshore natural gas hydrate extraction, this paper proposes a technical solution that combines concentric coiled tubing closed-loop circulation, jet pump lifting, sand flushing and plugging removal, etc. It can achieve pressure control and lifting of natural gas hydrates, control the recovery rate of hydrates, and remove the sand bed at the bottom of the well at any time according to on-site requirements, with high operational efficiency. Through experimental research on the lifting and suction volume of jet pumps, it has been shown that the distance between the throat and the power nozzle has a significant influence on the suction volume of jet pumps. For distances between 6 mm and 12 mm, the suction volume of the jet pump significantly increases, while the lifting pressure slightly decreases. When the distance is between 12 mm and 18 mm, the suction volume of the jet pump first increases and then decreases, while the lifting pressure decreases. The fluid pressure at the inlet significantly affects the suction volume of the jet pump. Under the action of power fluid pressure, the suction volume of the jet pump significantly increases, while the lifting pressure of the jet pump remains relatively constant. Compared with other lifting methods, it can achieve stable production of natural gas hydrates by reducing bottomhole pressure, solving the problems of severe sand blockage and extending the production cycle of natural gas hydrates.
