There are, the authors discussed in the previous chapter have shown, many distinct ways to make law less anthropocentric and more ecocentric: to some, this means the extension of rights of nature and, or, granting nature legal personhood and standing to nature; to others, a stronger application of the precautionary principle, the adoption of notions of sustainability and ecological integrity as guiding principles, both jurisprudentially and legislatively; to others still, the reimagination of the current theoretical and practical approach to property.
