Enhancing Corporate and Factory Training Through Game Development: A Comparative Review
摘要
The effectiveness of traditional employee training methods is limited by engagement and skill development. This paper explores the growing trend of game-based employee training, comparing its application in business and factory industries. The application of game-based training in both areas, using genres like simulations, serious games, and gamification elements, is compared. A systematic review identified 21 relevant articles from 65 screened articles published between 2019 and 2024 in credible databases like Scopus, IEEE Xplore, and Google Scholar. The paper examines which genres of game-based employee training, such as serious games, gamification elements, and simulation games, enhance critical thinking, problem-solving, and situational awareness in both industries. The analysis highlights the effectiveness of game-based training in both business and factory industries. Among various game-based training methods, virtual reality simulations for factory equipment familiarization and sales and negotiation simulations for communication skills development in corporate settings demonstrated the most significant improvements. With increased engagement and enhanced skills, the study suggests a strong potential for better performance outcomes, like faster task completion times. The research demonstrated that simulation games used in game-based training provide an engaging and practical approach to improving employee performance across both the corporate and factory industries.
