An Implementation of DC Microgrid Integrated with Renewable Energy Sources
摘要
DC microgrids offer numerous advantages over their AC counterparts, including improved efficiency, enhanced integration of renewable energy sources, and reduced conversion losses. This paper has studied and implemented the stability of a three-source-based DC microgrid. Conventional controllers such as the PI controller are also explored and implemented alongside selected parameters which control the operation of the DC microgrid, Further, a solar and wind system is also applied with selected irradiance and wind speed values, respectively. When going beyond the critical values, it enters instability region and eventually breakdown occur. The paper also discusses three different types of batteries used as a backup in the Simulink model of DC microgrid. A comparison of all three batteries has been done to feature the better of all. The proposed MATLAB simulation demonstrates the well working of the proposed system alongside parameters in a non-ideal realistic environment. The results have demonstrated a clear distinction, highlighting the battery that provides superior output among all options on the basis of extended usage duration and rapid charging capabilities.
