Born in Ahmedabad, India, Jigna Desai is currently a Professor in the Department of Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies and Asian American Studies at the University of Minnesota, USA. Desai’s educational background reflects her diverse interests and passions. She holds a B.S. in Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences and a second B.S. in Literature with Cognitive Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). During her undergraduate years at MIT, Desai worked as a research assistant for Dr. Steven Pinker, contributing to pioneering research in cognitive science.
