Cultural difference refers to the distinct beliefs, behaviors, languages, practices, and expressions unique to individuals of a particular ethnicity, race, or national origin. These differences vary across societal groups and influence the acceptability of behaviors. Throughout human history, the movement of people across borders has been a frequent occurrence. These movements resulted in the creation of immigrant communities living outside their home country, commonly called the diaspora. Recent developments in the means of transportation, information technologies, international trade, and labor movements have led to the flourishing of cultural differences in these communities. The concepts of diaspora and immigrant subjectivity help to explain the reasons behind different stages of international migration.
