Nicholas Van Hear is a British anthropologist and researcher known for his work on migration and refugee studies. He has contributed extensively to the understanding of the shifting dynamics of migration, particularly through his research on diasporas, transnationalism, and migration-development linkages in Africa, South Asia, West Asia, Europe (including the UK), and North America. He is currently developing research on the interplay between geopolitical shifts, mobility, immobility, and political unrest.
