Sen, Mayukh (1992–)
摘要
Mayukh Sen is an Indian-origin writer and author currently living in New York. In 2021, he authored the non-fiction book Taste Makers: Seven Immigrant Women Who Revolutionized Food in America. The book reveals America’s contemporary culinary evolution through the stories of seven female chefs and foodwriters. His work has been anthologized in three editions of The Best American Food Writing. Sen received a nomination for the James Beard Award in 2018 and 2019. He won the award in 2018 for his profile on Princess Pamela. Sen’s first book accounts for the relationship between the immigrant experience and food and how that builds community. Before becoming a professor at Columbia University’s Creative Writing Program, Sen worked on Food52, where he curated and created stories that dealt with the marginalized experiences of the self and the subjects he was working on. Sen’s fond relationship with food is reflected in his writing, which deconstructs the imminent politics of gender, race, and class.
