Shauna Singh Baldwin was born in Montreal, Canada, in 1962 to Sukhcharan Singh Pasrich and Hemant S. Singh Pasrich, who immigrated to Canada in the 1960s only to return to India shortly after her birth. Baldwin grew up in India, where she had her early education, and holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Delhi, a master’s in fine arts (MFA) from the University of British Columbia, and an MBA from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Baldwin now lives in Milwaukee, where she has been settled since the 1990s, having met and married her husband, David J. Baldwin, the erstwhile owner of the Safe House restaurant.
