Born in the year 1968 to Indian parents, Bhanu Kapil describes herself as a “British national of Punjabi origin living in Colorado.” She pursued her BA from Loughborough University, England, and then a master’s in English literature from the State University of New York, Brockport, in 1990. She taught for twenty years at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado, besides practicing creative writing and research. Since 2010, she has taught and inventoried modules in master’s in leadership for Sustainability with Sayra Pinto and Elena Georgiou at the University of Vermont.
