This chapter delineates the methodological approach employed across a series of empirical studies investigating user-AI interactions. The research examines four principal themes: (1) recommendation types (AI versus human), (2) AI communication styles (task-oriented versus social-oriented), (3) AI humanity (low versus high), and (4) generative AI humor (low versus high). The data collection strategy comprised a sequence of pretests, controlled experiments, and survey-based assessments. Subsequent sections present the specific experimental designs, measurement instruments, and participant recruitment protocols for each study.
