Precision/Site-Specific Nematode Management
摘要
Precision farming or precision agriculture leverages advanced technologies to tailor crop management practices to subfield variability, enhancing input use efficiency and sustainability. In the context of plant parasitic nematodes (PPNs), which exhibit highly heterogeneous spatial distributions and cause substantial yield losses, precision techniques, enable site-specific detection, mapping, and control, reducing nematicide overuse and environmental impact. This chapter synthesizes recent advances in precision tools for PPN management, including remote sensing, soil and molecular diagnostics, geospatial sampling and mapping, variable-rate nematicide applications, decision support systems (DSS), and emerging robotic and automation technologies. Challenges, integration with biological control, and future research directions are also discussed.
