Psychoeducation
摘要
This chapter outlines the foundational role of psychoeducation in CBT for psychosis as a syndrome approach of this book. Psychoeducation is emphasized as the first-stage intervention before any symptom-specific module is implemented. This chapter covers psychoeducation for hallucinations, delusions, and disorganized symptoms and provides explanations, instructions, and vignettes that can be useful to psychotherapists in helping patients understand these experiences without judgment or mystification. The chapter also reviews psychoeducation regarding the etiology of psychotic symptoms, integrating biological, psychological, and environmental explanations to reduce stigma and enhance treatment engagement. Finally, it presents a systematic approach for communicating the overall CBT-for-psychosis treatment plan, helping patients understand how comorbidities, risk factors, and protective factors will be managed within a structured, symptom-based framework.
