Treating General Anxiety Disorder in Psychosis
摘要
This chapter presents a module for treating generalized anxiety disorder in psychosis, focused on lowering the patient’s baseline anxiety level to stabilize psychotic symptoms. It begins with the rationale for targeting worry and outlines assessment using the GAD-7. The treatment sequence consists of anxiety management training (e.g., relaxation and physiological regulation skills), cognitive restructuring of worry-based thoughts, and situational exposure to avoided contexts. A case vignette shows how these components are implemented with a patient with schizophrenia and how reduction in generalized anxiety can lead to improvements in psychotic symptom burden and day-to-day functioning.
