Feedback and Assessment in Graduate Supervision
摘要
Feedback is at the heart of graduate supervision. It is the primary way supervisors shape a student’s intellectual development, influence the trajectory of a thesis or dissertation, and establish the standards of scholarly excellence. Assessment, in turn, is how supervisors and institutions judge whether students have met the requirements of their degree and the expectations of their discipline. Together, feedback and assessment form the mechanisms through which graduate students move from novice researchers to independent scholars.
