Supervising Diverse Research Projects

Graduate supervision in the twenty-first century is characterized by extraordinary diversity. No longer confined to narrowly defined disciplinary projects, students now pursue research that spans methodologies, combines fields, engages with communities, incorporates creative practices, or tackles real-world problems in applied ways. Supervisors are thus confronted with an increasingly wide range of projects—some squarely within their expertise, others stretching beyond familiar boundaries.
