Matlab Simulation of Three-Phase Voltage Source PWM Rectifier

Aiming at the problems of high network current harmonic, low power factor and slow dynamic response in conventional uncontrolled and phase-control rectifier circuits, a three-phase voltage source rectifier (VSR) based on the pulse width modulation(PWM) technology was given in this paper. The simulation experiments of increasing the load in the rectification state of VSR, and then switching to the inverter state were conducted on the VSR after analyzing the mathematical model of it in synchronous dq coordinate system and control block diagram of it, the waveform obtained from the simulation experiment shows that, compared with the phase-control or uncontrolled rectifier, the AC current harmonics is significantly reduced and the direction of power transmission can be reversed in the PWM rectifier, it can work at zero reactive power in different states, and the DC voltage can be maintained during load changes, so significantly make the system dynamic characteristics better. In addition, the influence of grid side inductance value L and capacitance value C on the DC voltage waveform was analyzed through the comparison of the output DC voltage waveform obtained when the L and C change, the best L value and C value were given.
