Type II Pelvic Resection
摘要
Periacetabular or Type II pelvic resection is oncological resection of the acetabular component of the hip joint with surrounding anatomical boundaries. The entire acetabulum is removed through supra-acetabular ilium, superior pubic rami, and ischium osteotomy. The femoral head and hip joint capsule are included together with the resection in case of hip joint contamination. Reconstruction of periacetabular defects after periacetabular resection is a challenging procedure and is associated with high complication rates and morbidity.
