This chapter demonstrates how to integrate the simulation of aeroelastic phenomena into an optimum design process of an aircraft wing structure, which is often called aeroelastic optimisation. The chapter illustrates how to define a design problem for wing structures. It starts with the optimisation problemOptimisation problem definition. Then, single-objective and multiobjective aeroelastic optimisation with deterministic aeroelastic models is shown. The final section deals with aeroelastic design with uncertainty or random variables.
