The Novel Metafictioning Apparatus
摘要
The study of metafictionMetafiction is the study of our entangling, emergent, and diffractive natures in relation with the object-systems around us. The Metafictioning Manifold: Stories that Matter re-energizes metafiction studies through the frameworks of performativity, neocybernetics, and diffraction, and to bridge a gap between now-conventional theories of metafiction and constructivist strands of literature and science studies. Metafictions disrupt the modern EnlightenmentEnlightenment sense of self and world; are performatively living objects and systems in, of, and with the human experience; exhibit a ‘mimesis’ of phenomena‘Mimesis’ of phenomena instead of a mimesis of processMimesis of process; and are a diffractive genre as opposed to a reflective one.
