Juvenile Hormone Analogs (JHAs) and Their Application to Pest Management
摘要
To apply juvenile hormone (JH) actions to insecticide development, many studies have been conducted on the synthesis of JH-like substances (JH analog (JHA) or JH mimic (JHM)). Many compounds synthesized in these studies have not reached practical use due to low environmental stability, high production costs, and inadequate insecticide efficacy. Methoprene, hydroprene, fenoxycarb, and pyriproxyfen are representative JHAs that have been used in practice. Terpene structural analogs of natural JHs, such as methoprene and hydroprene, have been applied exclusively in the field of public health pest control because of their low stability in the field. JHAs with non-terpene structures, such as fenoxycarb and pyriproxyfen, are examples of JHAs applied in agriculture.
