Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) is rapidly transforming the landscape of global communications; however, most research has overlooked a critical perspective in improving NTN performance: optimizing the internal networks of satellites (intra-satellite serving networks). The standard for intra-satellite serving networks is RapidIO, but it faces several challenges, including performance isolation, routing flexibility, and control complexity. In this paper, we propose RapidNet, a containerized RapidIO network solution based on software virtualization. RapidNet not only optimizes the RapidIO network and leverages containers to achieve isolation, portability, and controllability, but also addresses issues of transparency, overhead, and stability. Evaluation demonstrates that RapidNet provides nearly the same application performance as bare-metal RapidIO.

摘要
