During the 13th Five-year Plan period, a total of 379,300 households with 1,592,500 people were relocated in Sichuan Province, including 1,363,800 impoverished people. The construction task was fully completed, translating into a 100% completion rate. The centralized resettlement rate was 44.6%, with small-scale resettlement (less than 800 people) and decentralized resettlement as the primary approach. The focus of poverty alleviation relocation comprehensively shifted from the infrastructure construction to the follow-up support. The research team of the School of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development at Renmin University of China conducted interviews and case studies on the status of poverty alleviation relocation, the implementation status of resettlement, the follow-up support policies, etc., in Xuanhan County and Zhaojue County of Sichuan Province from 1st August to 7th August, 2020. This chapter introduces the status and effectiveness of poverty alleviation relocation in Sichuan Province and distills typical cases and experiences in community integration, industrial support and employment assistance.
