Case Study on the Implementation of the Policies for Poverty Alleviation Relocation in Shanxi Province
摘要
To effectively address the problem of “prioritizing relocation over follow-up support” in poverty alleviation relocation and truly achieve the goal of “moving out, stably resettling, having work to do, and achieving prosperity,” the research team in the School of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development at Renmin University of China, conducted a series of research projects in Shanxi Province from 1st August to 8th August, 2020 about the current status of poverty alleviation relocation, the implementation of resettlement work as well as follow-up employment, industries, and community management. They took Linxian County and Yunzhou District in Shanxi Province as typical research subjects and conducted in-depth discussions with the officials in charge of poverty alleviation from related departments of CPC County Committee, focusing on the processes of poverty alleviation relocation and resettlement as well as the follow-up support efforts. They also conducted door-to-door interviews with rural households to understand the situation better. Based on what they learned, this chapter examines the follow-up support for poverty alleviation relocation in Shanxi Province and introduces its implementation status, resettlement situation as well as its effectiveness. It illustrates typical cases and best practices in terms of community integration, industrial support and employment assistance.
