Water consumption reduction is a critical priority across all sectors, particularly in hospitality establishments, which are characterized by high and often inefficient water usage. To address this issue, the chapter presents a comprehensive literature-based analysis of the implementation of water-saving technologies in hotels and restaurants, drawing from recent innovations, environmental performance strategies, and relevant regulatory frameworks. It highlights both conventional interventions, such as low-flow fixtures, faucet aerators, and dual-flush toilets, as well as advanced solutions like Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled leak detection and graywater recycling systems. The discussion also examines the environmental impact of outdated fixtures, which contribute to the generation of wastewater. In addition, the chapter underscores the role of policy mandates, such as the Model Building Bye-Laws 2016 in India and EPA WaterSense standards in the US, in accelerating the adoption of such technologies. These solutions are especially relevant in regions facing water scarcity and rising utility costs. By aligning operational efficiency with environmental responsibility, this chapter provides hospitality stakeholders with a sector-specific roadmap for integrating emerging water-saving technologies into sustainable facility management.

摘要
