Most hospitality businesses worldwide have either already implemented or are beginning to implement smart technologies to a varied degree. Smart water monitoring has emerged as a promising solution to the evolving challenges faced by traditional water supply systems such as increasing water main breaks, diminishing freshwater resources, non-revenue water usage, and escalating demand. This chapter aims to provide an overview of water management strategies for water usage in the hospitality industry. Water management involves not only reduced consumption but also the implementation of necessary tools to measure, analyze, and optimize water usage. In this context, a case study on the development of a smart water supply grid in an educational institution, Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur, in India is presented. The system is built on the campus premise to maintain a balance between demand and availability of drinking water supply while overcoming other water-related issues. Additionally, the chapter underscores how smart water infrastructure provides meaningful insights that yield effective and sustainable water management.
