Sustainable Water Management in Hotel Infrastructure: Strategies for Water Conservation and Efficiency
摘要
The demand for hotels and restaurants continues to rise with increasing local warming, urbanization and population growth, leading to higher water consumption in the hospitality sector. As a result, efficient water management has become a critical challenge, requiring innovative conservation strategies to ensure sustainability. Water efficiency is frequently disregarded in the early phase of design and construction, despite growing awareness of water usage throughout a building’s lifecycle. In order to close this gap, this chapter looks at how sustainable water management techniques and strategies can be applied to hotel infrastructure under limited water conditions. Water-saving strategies require techniques like rainwater harvesting, reclaimed water, gray water regaling systems, green building practices, plumbing and low-flow fixtures, efficient landscaping with native, drought-resistant plants, construction materials and heat management and conduct a water Audit. The chapter prioritizing water efficiency in hotels, which is essential for the sustainable hospitality industry, can mitigate its environmental footprint while ensuring long-term water resource conservation. This will foster a more sustainable industry that minimizes its environmental impact and promotes responsible resource use.
