Measuring the Performance of Logistics Enterprises Using a Multi-Criteria Decision-Making Model
摘要
The logistics industry in Vietnam plays a pivotal role in the national economy, yet it continues to face significant challenges related to operational efficiency, high costs, and limited competitiveness. Developing a comprehensive, objective, and practically relevant set of performance evaluation criteria for logistics enterprises has become necessary. This study proposes a multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) model that integrates the CRITIC and TOPSIS methods to assess the performance of six prominent logistics enterprises in Vietnam. The CRITIC method is employed to determine the objective weights of 11 criteria covering economic, social, and service level dimensions, while the TOPSIS method is applied to rank the operational performance of the selected companies. The results indicate that the PetroVietnam Transportation Corporation (PVTrans) achieved the highest performance score, while Tan Cang Logistics maintained the most stable ranking across different scenarios. Additionally, both Transimex Logistics and PVTrans demonstrated a significant dependency on inventory turnover and scope of operation. This research contributes to developing a practical tool to support managers in resource allocation and performance improvement strategies, thereby enhancing the competitive advantage of logistics enterprises.
