SOC Indirect Prediction Algorithm of Energy Storage System Under Grid Unbalanced Fault

Under unbalanced grid fault, the DC current in a grid-connected inverter with multi-variable protection control exhibits second-harmonic fluctuations, leading to inaccuracies in battery SOC prediction. To improve SOC estimation accuracy, an indirect prediction algorithm is proposed. This approach introduces the multi-variable protection control strategy. Subsequently, the method’s effect on DC bus voltage and battery current is quantitatively analyzed, correlating control parameters with current dynamics. A theoretical model is derived to compute the actual battery current, and SOC is estimated via ampere-hour integration, providing a reliable reference for online correction. Simulation results validate the effectiveness the proposed method.
