A Comparative Analysis on the Lighting Conditions of Ambient and Task Lighting and Their Impact on the Productivity of Architecture Students: A Study in the Classroom and Library Settings
摘要
This study conducts a comparative analysis on the lighting conditions of ambient lighting in the classroom setting and task lighting in the library setting, and their effects on the productivity of architecture students at Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao. A quantitative approach was utilized by using a survey questionnaire to gather the necessary data from 32 architecture students. The results indicate that a balanced condition of task and ambient lighting can most enhance productivity. Additionally, the task lighting located within the library is more effective in enhancing productivity compared to the ambient lighting within the classrooms. The resulting insights can provide practical applications for designing study spaces, emphasizing the need for adaptive and balanced lighting solutions that align with the diverse needs and preferences of students.
