摘要

As a result of people abandoning the structure they were using, the new users of this structure become “natural elements”. In other words, nature occupies the abandoned structure. In this study, it is aimed to read the behavior of nature in the structure and to take steps towards presenting a new perspective on the field of adaptive architecture through these behaviors. The inclusion of nature, which was left outside because of the abandonment of the building, into the interior gives the building new potential. It is thought that the adaptive actions of nature, the only actor in the abandoned space, to use and benefit from the space are worth attention for architectural research. The examination of the concepts of “biomimicry” and “adaptability”, which were previously discussed together in literature, through the behavior of nature in abandoned spaces is important because it touches on the subject from a different perspective. In the study, firstly the concepts of abandoned space, adaptability and biomimicry are examined. Then, the parts of the structure of the natural elements in the abandoned interior are followed. The steps of using biomimicry in the adaptation of a space are investigated through the detected “natural element movements”. As a result, in addition to being inspired by the patterns created by natural movements, it has been seen that the changes in the perception of space are also worth discussing. By analyzing the effect of natural behaviors on the phenomenological reading of space, a different contribution of biomimicry can be in question in the design process.”
