This chapter explores the concept and connotation of China’s participation in global education governance. With the rapid development of globalization, global issues such as environment, finance and terrorism have become increasingly prominent. These problems, which cannot be solved by a single country, require the coordination and cooperation of the entire international community, and the concept of “global governance” has emerged. Therefore, global governance is the product of global consciousness and international affairs in the era of globalization. It embodies mankind’s expectations for a better future and bears the heavy responsibility of solving unprecedented global problems. With the rise of global governance, educational governance, as an important part of it, has gradually been put on the international agenda and attracted the attention of multiple governance subjects. At present, education is no longer just an internal affair of a country, but is closely linked with supranational forces, which calls for a new global education governance system.

This chapter explores the concept and connotation of China’s participation in global education governance.
