String-in Adaptive Variable Impedance Leakage Current Measurement Method – Study on DC Synchronized Test of Multiple Surge Arresters

In the ultra-high voltage direct current transmission project, the multiple parallel surge arrester group is an important equipment for line prevention of transient overvoltage, and equalizing the absorbed energy of the multiple surge arresters is a key technical challenge to ensure the smooth operation of the surge arrester group. This paper proposes the development of program an intelligent unit, which is based on the measurement of leakage current of the series-adaptive variable impedance, firstly, the feasibility of the program is analyzed theoretically and the calculation method of the value of the high-voltage variable impedance is given, and the analytical calculations are carried out based on the measured values in the laboratory, and the results show that, through the series-adjustable resistor, the negative feedback is realized, and the imbalance of the I-V characteristics in the arrester group is improved, and in combination with the intelligent control, the improves the intelligence and reliability of the test system.
