In this chapter, the author describes the situation of the regenerative medicine in the medical field and how the scaffolds play a crucial role in its development. A summary of stem cell therapies, tissue engineering, scaffold design, and gene editing molecular therapies accessible to a high number of citizens is presented. Clinical applications, mainly focused on orthopedical, musculoskeletal, and cardiovascular repair, as well as wound healing and skin regeneration are described. To finish, some potential strategies for tissue regeneration and the outlook for regenerative medicine in the coming years are discussed.
