Autoimmune diseases are numerous and diverse, characterized by a broad range of clinical manifestations and unpredictable progression. These diseases include several organs which are defined by immunoregulation problems that are caused due to breakdown of immunotolerance causing inflammation. Rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, systemic lupus erythematosus, type 1 diabetes, and psoriasis are some of the common autoimmune diseases. The accurate diagnosis of autoimmune diseases is difficult and time-consuming which needs medical expertise as these diseases are complex. The purpose of early diagnosis is to attain remission without inflammation and functional deterioration. The clinical management of these chronic disorders provides challenge to health care practitioners which emphasizes on reducing inflammation, suppressing immune system and symptomatic relief with various medications, physical therapies, and nutritional and lifestyle modifications combined with regular screenings and medical checkups. This chapter’s objective is to shed light on early diagnostic strategies to reduce morbidity and improve quality of life of patients with autoimmune diseases and effective disease management approaches.
