Measuring Sustainability Impact
摘要
Sustainability is a critical element of successful and resilient enterprises. However, it is often perceived as a challenge by businesses when they aim at integrating sustainable practices and social innovation in ways that not only promote social equity and environmental protection but also drive economic growth. Companies face even greater challenges when trying to measure their environmental impact, assessing external risks, or connecting to global climate change mitigation goals. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), in particular, tend to encounter these challenges even more acutely than larger corporations. This chapter examines the primary sustainability measurement tools currently available to SMEs and proposes a framework to bridge the gap between high-level climate objectives and localized business initiatives. To illustrate the applicability of the proposed solution, the case study of the travel and tourism industry is presented. Finally, recommendations are made for the broader adoption of the proposed measurement framework.
