Glycoscience Portal GlyCosmos
摘要
Although there exist several databases related to glycans, the only database that comprehensively links omics data related to glycans and targets a variety of organisms is the GlyCosmos portal [1]. GlyCosmos can be accessed from https://glycosmos.org and includes information on not only glycan structures but also genes, proteins, lipids, pathways, diseases, and species/organisms related to glycans (Fig. 162.1). It is linked with many related databases around the world, including major databases such as protein information linked with UniProt, pathway information with Reactome, lipid information with Lipid Maps, and glycan structures and related molecular information with PubChem. It is also linked with other focused databases such as CarboGrove, which provides information on glycan-binding molecules, and MatrixDB, a database on biomolecules involved in the extracellular matrix. In addition, glycan-related information obtained by individual collaborative research is introduced into Data Resources and integrated. On the other hand, GlyCosmos is the only access to repositories where users register glycan-related data and obtain accession numbers (IDs): It provides access to the glycan structure repository GlyTouCan [2], the glycoconjugate repository GlyComb [3], the glycomics mass spectrometry repository GlycoPOST [4], and its annotation repository UniCarb-DR [5].
