This chapter explores a possible reunification of Taiwan with the mainland. There is much talk currently (i.e., in February 2025) about a possible invasion of Taiwan by the People’s Liberation Army (PLA). Probably only few persons remember that similar invasions have already occurred on other islands: on Hainan Island (Feb 1955) and Tachan (also written Dachan) island (Apr 1955). In 1958, the mainland set a blockade around Taiwan, and in 1995, a barrage of missiles was fired against an area close to Taiwan.
