Study of the Developmental Stages and Life Cycle of Zebrafish
摘要
The utilization of zebrafish as a model organism is crucial for understanding developmental biology, genetics, regeneration, and disease physiology in humans. Zebrafish maintenance requires low cost, and high fecundity makes it a robust model for high-throughput toxicology studies. The life cycle is short, and the larval stages are self-reliant till day 5 avoiding ethical clearances. We will be elaborating the protocols for zebrafish husbandry, natural behavior, breeding, egg development, and maintenance; moreover, the larval stages will be studied till day 5 with focus on studies to highlight the importance of the organism in high-throughput studies. The protocols will help researchers establish a zebrafish lab facility and utilize zebrafish as a model organism to understand various biological processes.
