Structural Phase Transition Induced by the Size Change of Nanocrystals
摘要
This chapter investigates size-dependent phase transitions in NCs with dynamic size evolution. Continuous TEM imaging revealed a crossover in phase stability as the size of NaI and CsCl NCs changed. Furthermore, encapsulation within irregularly shaped CNTs enabled direct observation of phase boundaries between distinct crystal structures, providing insight into atomistic mechanisms of phase transitions in CsCl and CsF. The study revealed that these transitions occur via interface disordering, challenging conventional mechanistic expectations.
