Design of a Portable Cooler and Dispensing Equipment for Canned Soft Drinks

In this article, the design of a unique cooling device is presented. The purpose of the cooling device is to cool canned beer and soft drinks. The goal was to create a device that meets the requirements set based on experience. To do this, first a literature search in the world of cooling technology and dispensing equipment was made. The types of contemporary soft drink vending machines and portable cooling devices were presented, as well as the different cooling methods. In order to prepare the plans, a concept and a list of requirements related to the device had to be created. Accordingly, several possible concepts were created. After considering their advantages and disadvantages, the version that best met the expectations were selected. Subsequently, during the design, various problems that may arise during operation had to be solved. With the help of simulation testing of 3D CAD models, the number of required prototypes was reduced, since some problems could already be solved with various simulation tests. During the design, the idea were developed from the concept to the manufacturability of the first prototype. This is a complex task: in addition to cooling technology and strength calculations, taking into account the applied production technology, reducing the production time and ensuring the problem-free operation of the automatic dispensing of drinks were also important aspects. The production of the prototype is currently in progress.
