Container Based Migration Solution for Pre-copy Service
摘要
In the vehicle edge computing(VEC) network, the container based solution can significantly reduce the migration and interruption time. This paper studies the technology of stateful service migration. The pre-copy migration scheme has the ability to finely control the entire process and reduce service interruption time, making it more suitable for complex VEC network environments. Considering the lightweight and fast start-up characteristics of containers, a container based migration solution for pre-copy services is designed and implemented to meet the service requirements of vehicle continuity and low delay. This solution is implemented based on runC and CRIU, which uses iterative migration to save and transfer the memory data of services and reduce the interruption time of services. The test results in the real machine environment show that the container can become the carrier of VEC services, and the container pre-copy migration technology can help speed up the service migration process in the VEC system, and can greatly reduce the interruption time without increasing the migration time.
