This chapter highlights taurine’s therapeutic effects on hepatic steatosis, hypertriglyceridemia, and hypercholesterolemia induced by high-fat, high-sucrose, and high-cholesterol diets, respectively. Taurine modulates key metabolic pathways, including AMPK activation, suppression of lipogenic genes, and enhancement of cholesterol catabolism. Additionally, taurine influences gut microbiota composition and short-chain fatty acid production, further improving lipid homeostasis. This work underscores taurine’s role as a dietary corrective agent, advocating for its integration into strategies combating metabolic syndrome through personalized nutrition.
