This chapter is devoted to introducing the reader to major original papers which constitute backgrounds for the present book, by explaining their contents and positions in connection with the developments given in the previous two chapters. Various subjects which are related directly and indirectly to Nambu dynamics are discussed from a variety of different perspectives and viewpoints of diverse research areas including fluid mechanics and string theory.
