According to the Rome IV criteria, FGIDs in the esophageal region include Functional Chest Pain, Functional Heartburn, Reflux Hypersensitivity, Globus, and Functional Dysphagia. Esophageal motility testing is performed using high-resolution manometry (HRM) to systematically evaluate esophageal motility disorders. The Chicago Classification, now in its fourth version, provides a diagnostic flow diagram of esophageal motility disorders. The practical section of this chapter addresses functional heartburn, non-cardiac chest pain, globus, functional dysphagia/dysphagia, followed by NERD/reflux hypersensitivity, GIMD including achalasia, diffuse esophageal spasm (DES), and esophageal motility abnormalities associated with scleroderma and collagen diseases.

摘要
