Topics, Scientific Significance of the Bristol Stool form Scale
摘要
The Bristol Stool Form Scale (BSFS) is a diagnostic tool that classifies stool shape and consistency into seven categories and is widely used as a criterion for diagnosing constipation and diarrhea. Among constipation patients, the strongest factors associated with decreased Patient Assessment of Constipation Quality of Life (QOL) scores (indicating better QOL) were “normal stool form” (BSFS Type 4) and “bowel movements more than three times per week.” The relationship between gut microbiota and BSFS is also updated.
