Hybrid Energy Infrastructure for Offshore Energy Hubs with On-Turbine Hydrogen Production
摘要
Offshore Energy Hubs (OEHs), which integrate Offshore Wind Farms (OWFs) with Power-to-X (PtX) technologies, are envisioned to enhance operational stability and reduce the cost of both wind power and hydrogen production through coupling and scaling effects. This paper provides a general introduction to OEH concepts and visions, along with an overview of current project developments. It then proposes an innovative hybrid energy infrastructure solution tailored to the on-turbine hydrogen production (OTHP) configuration, combining electrical power and gas transmission within a unified hybrid cable. Finally, a simulation-based analysis is presented to evaluate the operational challenges and benefits associated with OEHs employing on-turbine hydrogen production and hybrid transmission infrastructure.
