This chapter explores the role of inclusive student-staff partnerships in addressing barriers to extracurricular engagement for marginalised students. Drawing on my dual perspective as both a student and staff member, I examine the impact of participation in employability-enhancing activities and the systemic inequities that prevent diverse students from accessing these opportunities. Using the Overcoming Barriers to Student Volunteering project as a case study, I outline the principles of inclusive partnership, detailing how values-based, flexible goal-setting fosters collaboration and empowerment. Findings highlight the importance of intentionally-designed, equity-focused initiatives that actively include underrepresented students in decision-making processes. Ultimately, this chapter serves to support the argument that embedding diverse student perspectives into institutional strategies is crucial for fostering meaningful engagement, improving employability outcomes, and enhancing the sense of belonging within higher education.

摘要
