The study proposes a conceptual framework of gamifying a learning activity to help young learners learn Vietnamese as a heritage language, applying the multi-sensory approach and gamification in education. The framework aims to cater to different learning styles in heritage language learning as well as lower learners’ anxiety by creating pleasure through games and the co-ordination of multiple senses so as to create an inclusive learning environment. The focus on language reception, production, and interaction in gamifying a learning activity is also presented in the paper. In addition, some samples of gamified activities and precautions to actualize the framework in teaching practice are also mentioned.
